Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Eureka.
A liturgical wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich.
Ann died March 6, 2013, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Ann Marie Streifel, daughter of John J. and Margaret (Voller) Streifel, was born May 2, 1926, in Hillsview. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school, graduating from Eureka High School in 1944. She then graduated from Northern State College, cum laude in 1970. Ann taught school for 38 years and is listed in the first edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers on April 28, 1990.
She was united in marriage to John Bauer on April 28, 1947, in Aberdeen. John died April 2, 2006. She moved to Ipswich in 2004 to be near her son, David, and his family.
Ann enjoyed sports, especially attending her son's and later her grandchildren's sporting events. She also like to watch David coach.
Ann was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Eureka.
Ann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Kathy Bauer of Ipswich; and two grandchildren, Ryan Michael Bauer and Melissa Kay Bauer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant son; one infant granddaughter; one brother; and five sisters.
The organist will be Paul Kolar and the soloist is Mary Beth Kolar.
The family prefers memorials to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
