Robert LeRoy Jacob "Bob" Adler, 80, of Idaho Falls passed away March 15, 2013, at his home of natural causes.

Bob was born March 12, 1933, in Ipswich, to Leo Charles Adler and Helen Veronica Sahli Adler. He spent his early years in Ipswich, where he grew up and attended school. He left school early to help his parents with their family farm. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-55 and flew numerous missions during the Korean War. He later moved to Idaho Falls.

Bob was a truck driver for many years and worked for CR England and Western Transport. He drove 5.3 million miles, accident free. He retired in 2008. He went many years with each company he worked for accident free.

He enjoyed taking his nieces, and once an entire class, on "trips" with him by sending postcards and T-shirts from every state he traveled. One of Bob's most prized possessions was a quilt the school kids made for him, because he'd mentioned to them in a letter that he was in Minnesota and it was so cold there.

He loved German food and his home state of South Dakota. Bob also loved collecting cookbooks.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Mynette (Chris) Nowell of Grantsville, Utah; brother, Dennis L. (Barbara) Adler of Rapid City; sisters: Florence A. Richards of Aberdeen

and Carol J. (Earl) Huffman of Indianapolis, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leo L. "June"  (Dorothy) Adler; two sisters: Thelma L. (Robert) Sellen and Ilene H. (Albert) Gisi; a brother-in-law, Maurice Richards; and his special friend and life partner, Mary Mickelson.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls, with Deacon Wence Rodriquez officiating.
