Burial will be at the Mound City Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. under the direction of Stout Funeral Home of Mobridge. A scripture service will be Sunday at 5 p.m., with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. at Stout Family Funeral Home, Mobridge.
Roberta F. Schaefbauer was born June 27, 1938, on the family farm southeast of Herreid to Frank and Susie (Weisbeck) Schaefbauer. She grew up there attending grade school and high school in Herreid.
On May 31, 1955, she married Wilbert "Billy" Goehring at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Herreid. They made their home on a farm southwest of Herreid, later moving to a farm four miles east of Mound City until 1977, when they moved into Mound City operating the Friendly Tavern, which was purchased from Ray Grad in 1973. She developed many friendships in over 20 years of operating this establishment. Many a game of pinochle were played there. Her husband, Billy, passed away July 3, 1988.
On Feb. 14, 1994, Bert married John Liebelt, together making their home in Mobridge until John passed away July 12, 2012. Her dog Pepper was by her side to fill the void after his passing. Bert enjoyed visiting with friends, playing video lottery and spent many hours on her computer sending emails and playing solitaire.
Survivors include six children: Terry (Vanessa) Goehring of Mound City, Larry (Susan) Goehring of Herreid, Ronnie Goehring of Mobridge, Laurie (Tom) Brandner of Pierre, Susan (James) Aman of Mobridge, Troy (Amy) Goehring of Tabor; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Eileen Dais of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Sister Teresita Schaefbauer of Aberdeen; one brother, Frank (Sara) Schaefbauer of Pierre.
Bert was preceded in death by husband, Wilbert "Billy" Goehring; husband, John Liebelt; parents, Frank Schaefbauer in 1970 and Susie Schaefbauer in 1998; one sister, Doris Lacher; and one brother, Duane Schaefbauer.
