Marilyn J. Newnam

 Marilyn J. Newnam, 80, of Geneseo, Ill., passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the First Lutheran Church in Geneseo. The Rev. Dr. Arthur Bergren will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation for Marilyn will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Marilyn Newnam Memorial Fund.

 Vandemore Funeral Homes of Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements.

 Marilyn was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Grand Forks, N.D., the daughter of John and Marie (Olson) Jacobson.

 She was united in marriage to Eugene E. Newnam on May 18, 1952, in Rockville, Minn.

 She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Geneseo and also a member of WELCA at the church. She was a member of Hammond-Henry Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years. Marilyn was also an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.

 Survivors include her husband, Eugene; one son, David (Lisa) Newnam, Idaho Falls, Idaho; one daughter, Sandi (Lou) Ferdon, Plainfield, Ill.; one daughter-in-law, Mary Newnam, Rockton, Ill.; three brothers: John Jacobson, Minnesota, Robert Jacobson, Minnesota and Loren (Carol) Jacobson, Ohio; five grandchildren: Amy (Jason) Rosillo, Sarah (Bob) Dyxin, Matthew Ferdon, Kyra Newnam, Kyle (Erin) Newnam; four great-grandchildren: Parker, Emma, Logan, and Lillyann.

 She was preceded in death by one son, Tracy Newnam; one grandson, Joshua Newnam; one brother, Donald Jacobson
