Friends may sign her online guestbook at schriversmemorial.com.

Gloria was born April 6, 1930, in Aberdeen. She was the only daughter of Chester and Lucille (Beltz) Eary. She was raised near Barnard and graduated from Barnard High School in 1948.

Gloria was united in marriage to LaVern K. Gooding on Feb. 11, 1951, at the Barnard Community Church. They were the first couple to be married there. The couple made their home in Barnard, where they raised two sons, Timothy and Daniel. Gloria was a life-long resident of Barnard with the exception of the last 2 years, in which she lived in West Fargo, N.D., so she could be closer to family.

In addition to raising her two boys, she worked professionally in a clerical role for the Brown County Register of Deeds Office as well as for First National Bank in Aberdeen. In her leisure time, she loved to do crafts, crochet, and camp with her husband, family and friends. Outside of her family, the great passion of her life was the people and community of Barnard. She served for many years helping to organize Barnard High School reunions and community events.  She also spent considerable time volunteering with the Brown County Democratic Party and was proud to have voted for every Democratic candidate from Harry Truman to Barack Obama. Above all else, Gloria was an American patriot through and through.

Gloria is survived by her son, Timothy (Nyla) Gooding of West Fargo, N.D., son, Daniel (Cathy) Gooding of Bluffton, S.C.; three grandchildren: Jason (Alizabeth) Gooding of Denver, Colo., Charles (Wendy) Gooding of Rapid City and Sara Gooding of West Fargo, N.D.; three great-granddaughters: Alexandra, Brenna and Aurelia Gooding; three nieces: Sandra (Felix) Murray of Mitchell as well as Julie Pruyn and Penny Stevens, both of Vancouver, Wash.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; her parents; as well as her husband's parents, Earl and Laura (Badgley) Gooding.
