Aberdeen: Lorraine Mae Lehr, 84, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2013.

Lorraine was born, raised and lived in Aberdeen her whole lifetime. She graduated from Aberdeen Central High in 1946, and was married to her loving husband of 66 years, Don Lehr, on March 15, 1947. Lorraine was a loving homemaker and dedicated her life to her husband, children and their families. She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served the church in many ways throughout her years. Lorraine loved playing cards with bridge club friends and spent many hours playing games and cards with her family. Her daily love of crossword puzzles and Sudoku kept her mind sharp as a tack. Lorraine and Don enjoyed dancing, golfing, time at the family lake cabin, NSU basketball games, getting together with friends for coffee and breakfasting together. They wouldn't miss a birthday, baptism or seeing their grandchildren in countless activities. Lorraine and Don traveled many places together during their marriage and wintered in Arizona for many of their retired years together. She loved to laugh and reminisce. She was a selfless soul, always giving; a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be in our hearts forever.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Elias Hanson; and two beautiful granddaughters: Christy and Hannah.

Survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Don Lehr; sister, LaVonne (Dale) Kinyon; children: Diane Lehr, David (Kathy) Lehr, Deb Lehr, Dawn (John) Paetz, Denise Haselhorst, Karen (Bryan) McGinley; grandchildren: Jason (Becky) Lehr, Ryan Lehr, Joe (Tammy) Schaible, Alexander Lehr, Stephanie (Chad) Hanson, Jordon Dahme, Zack McMillan, Caleb and Kaylee Haselhorst, Macy, Ella and Bennett McGinley; great-grandchildren: Jackson Lehr, Allysha, Cheyenne, Devin and Dylan Schaible, Carter, Sophie and Colby Hanson.

A celebration of her life will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 1 p.m. Her family will greet friends one hour prior at noon. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park following the service and fellowship.

Lorraine and Don have requested memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
