Jerald Edwin Kallenberger, son of Edwin and Marie (Eisenbeisz) Kallenberger, was born Sept. 20, 1955, in Aberdeen. This is the area where he was raised and attended school.
He was united in marriage to Angie Hoffman on June 25, 1977, at St. James Church in Leola. Together they made their home in Aberdeen, where they raised their family. Jerald did construction work and also worked as a baker for several years. He later went to work for Al's Specialty Manufacturing.
Jerald and Angie began making their home in Leola, where they owned and operated AJ Café. He worked at North Central Farmers Elevator before starting with North Star Energy, where he delivered propane.
Jerald enjoyed classic cars and loved riding his trike. In his free time, he enjoyed going to car shows, poker runs, tinkering on various items and was willing to lend a hand to anybody who needed it on any project they had.
Grateful for having shared Jerald's life are his wife, Angie; granddaughter, Kayleigh Kallenberger; three sons: Jeremy (Miranda) Kallenberger and Jason (Jennifer) Kallenberger, both of Leola, and Justin (Darby) Kallenberger of Aberdeen; five grandchildren: Cadin Kallenberger, Bailey Kallenberger, Anari Kallenberger, Jacob Kallenberger and Jayden Kallenberger; and two sisters: Julie Haar and Jeannette (Gene) Brick.
