Wooster, Ohio: Doris (Holzwarth) Nathan, 67, of Wooster died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Akron City Hospital.
Services were held Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster, with the Rev. Anne Paynter officiating. Interment followed in Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinkley, Ohio.
She was born Aug. 10, 1945, in Gettysburg, the daughter of Arthur and Anne Lassle Holzwarth.
She married Alan E. Nathan on June 18, 1968.
Doris had a bachelors of education degree from Concordia College in St. Louis, Mo., and a masters in business from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She had been a school teacher for both public and private schools in St. Louis and was the chief accountant at Union Electric in St. Louis, Mo., until retiring in 1989.
Doris was a very active member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of AAUW. She loved listening to books on tape, reading, enjoyed spending time with her family, loved planning trips, traveling and history.
Survivors include her husband; son, Timothy (April) Nathan of Pittsburgh; daughter, Jennifer Nathan of Washington; granddaughter, Savannah Grace Nathan; and brothers: James, Loren and William Holzwarth.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents.
