Alice Jondahl

 Services for Alice Jondahl, 92, of Aberdeen and formerly of Langford, will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Langford. The Rev. Charles Bunk will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Falnes Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.

 Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

 Alice passed away April 17, 2013, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

 Alice Gurine Holland was born June 4, 1920, to Mandius and Clara (Hoines) Holland in rural Langford. She was baptized and confirmed at Falnes Lutheran Church.

 Alice united in marriage with Henry Flagtvedt on Nov. 23, 1937. To this union, two sons were born: James Keith and Henry Conrad. Henry Senior died in 1939.

 She married Olger Jondahl on Feb. 3, 1942, and together they had three sons: Rodney, Donald and Loren, joining Olger's son, Richard.

 Alice lived in Langford all her life. She sang in the church choir for many years, helped with crafts for Bible school and was an active member of Eve Circle. She worked many years at Aspen Drug, The Gamble Store and also fixed hair in her home in Langford. She was also a Legion Auxiliary member for more than 66 years, a member of the senior citizens and enjoyed the bingo parties, pot luck dinners and the Langford Boosterettes for many Years.

 Preceding her in death were her parents; both husbands; two sons: Jim and Loren; her grandson, Brad Jondahl; and her brothers: Clarence, Elmer, Alvin and Marvin.

 Celebrating her life are her sons: Richard (Miriam) Jondahl of Waite Park, Minn., Henry Jondahl of Keystone, S.D., Rodney (Leone) Jondahl of Aberdeen, S.D., Don Jondahl of Aberdeen, S.D.; and daughter-in-laws: Marilyn Jondahl of Groton, S.D., and Lois (Jondahl) Dow of Arlington, Texas. Alice is also survived by 16 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Leslie Holland, of Ipswich, S.D.; one sister, Hazel McKittrick of Groton, S.D.; and her special kitty "Chetta."

 Casketbearers will be her grandsons: Craig Jondahl, Kevin Jondahl, Steve Jondahl, Chan Jondahl, Tanner Jondahl, Jeff Jondahl and Cory Olson.

 Memorials are preferred to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Langford, Falnes Cemetery or to the Langford Legion Auxiliary.
