Mass of Christian burial for Dennis A. Sahli, 67, of Aberdeen will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Burial at 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
Liturgical wake and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dennis died April 27, 2013.
Dennis, son of Fred and Lena (Kraft) Sahli, was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Aberdeen. He attended Aberdeen Parochial Schools until seventh grade, then transferred to Monroe Junior High and graduated from Central High School with the class of 1964. He worked at the Civic Auditorium with his father starting in the seventh grade until high school graduation. Dennis then began employment with Lacey Dairy in production. He was enlisted in the United States Army from 1966-1968. He attended Northern State College for one year while working at DeVries Dairy.
He married Alma Fetters on Oct. 11, 1969. He worked in dairy sales until 1991, when he started S&S Dairy, a home delivery business which he operated until 2005. Dennis then became employed with Aberdeen Catholic Schools for three years. He then began employment with Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was the Sexton of the cemetery, custodian and operations engineer.
Dennis cherished every moment he spent with his boys and grandchildren. Woodworking was always relaxing for him. He enjoyed his country home and hobby farm. For 40 plus years, he could be seen on the sidelines of the NSU football games as he was part of the NSU Chain Gang. He also liked to follow Roncalli High School sports.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Alma; sons: Fred (Nicole) Sahli of Webster, N.Y. and Bill (Sara) Sahli of Madison, Wisc.; brother, Richard (Caroline) Sahli; sisters: Jane Ann (Donald) Olson, Michele (Mel) Sahli-Lindemann and Teresa (James) Schmitz; sister-in-law, Joan Sahli; brother-in-law, Gerald Wanttie; and grandchildren: Sig, Tatum and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Albert and Bernard (Marianne); and sisters: Mary, Elaine and Clara Sahli and Katherine Wanttie.
