Wallie A. Binfet, 88, of Humboldt passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Humboldt, with family present one hour prior to greet friends. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.
Wallie Uhrich was born on Aug. 16, 1924, to Stanislaus and Clara (Glatt) Uhrich near Roscoe. She grew up and attended country school near her home.
On Sept. 21, 1944, Wallie married Walter Binfet. They spent many years together in the Black Hills until Walter's passing in 1999. Shortly after that, Wallie moved to Humboldt and lived there until her passing.
During her life, Wallie enjoyed many hobbies including reading, traveling, quilting, playing cards, baking, doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also truly loved to spend time with family and friends, especially her coffee group. Wallie was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the altar society.
Wallie is survived by six sons: Louis (Cindy) of Belgrade, Mont., David of Honolulu, Hawii, Jerry (Gayla) of Edwardsburg, Mich., Arnold of Lead, Dan of Belgrade, Mont., and Kenneth of Denver, Colo.; five daughters: Rose Bertram of Washburn, N.D., Judy (Andy) Loban of Summerset, Diane (Bob) Petersen of Riverton, Wyo., Laura Halloran of Hobart, Ind., and Muria (Randal) Olson of Humboldt; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Lawrence; two sons-in-law, Tom Halloran and Lee Bertram; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Binfet; a grandson; and her sister, Christine Binfet.
