Theophil Dohn

 Funeral service for Theophil Dohn, 85, of Eureka will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Eureka Baptist Church. The Rev. Gary Bergman will officiate.

 Burial will be in the Eureka City Cemetery.

 Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

 Theophil died Oct. 25, 2012, at his home.

 Theophil Dohn, son of Christ and Sophia (Bertsch) Dohn was born July 15, 1927, near Greenway in McPherson County, S.D.

 He was united in marriage to Arlene Fischer on June 18, 1950, at Bertsch Station Baptist Church near Venturia, N.D. They made their home 12 miles north of Eureka on the Dohn family homestead. They were general farmers raising small grains and livestock. They semi-retired in June of 1994 and moved to a house four miles southwest of their home. Arlene died Jan. 27, 2002.

 Theophil was united in marriage to Joyce Yoder on Nov. 26, 2004, at Eureka Reformed Church. They made their home in Eureka.

 Theophil was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing cards, driving around the area and looking at the crops and helping to move farm equipment. Annual butchering gatherings with the family and spending time with his grandchildren were always special memories.

 Theophil is survived by his wife, Joyce; three sons, Jim (Judy) Dohn of Eureka, Terry (Cindy) Dohn of Aberdeen and Keenan (Lori) Dohn of Rapid City; one daughter, Judy (Greg) Pesall of Webster; stepchildren, Jay Parker of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jeff Parker of Salina, Kan., and Jannel (Paul) Bentz of Eureka; one sister, Martha Bader of Aberdeen; one brother, Albert (Irene) Dohn of LaMoure, N.D.; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 His parents, first wife, Arlene, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

 Honorary Casketbearers will be Theophil's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 The casketbearers will be David Dohn, Duane Dohn, Mark Dohn, Alton Nies, Wayne Fischer and Travis Bentz.

 The family prefers memorials be sent to Eureka Senior Center, PO Box 42, Eureka, SD 57437-0042.
