In 1988, they moved to Woodland, Calif., where they have lived to the present day. Adeline spent her early days of marriage as a homemaker, taking care of her family. Later on, she had hobbies of oil painting and knitting. She won several ribbons at the Yolo County Fair and enjoyed visiting the Senior Center and with women friends at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Adeline died May 15, 2013.
Adeline is survived by Joseph, her husband for 66 years; children: Marilyn (David) Golden of Gridley, Calif.; Joy (Charles) Bierleigh of Salem, Ore.; Brian Lapka of Martinez, Calif.; and Randall Lapka of Davis, Calif.; grandchildren: Joshua Pennington of Sacramento, Calif.; Kelly (Bradley) Rudolph of Fort Benning, Ga.; Joseph Lapka of Corvallis, Ore.; Katie Lapka of Marysville, Calif.; and Matthew Lapka of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters-in-law: Gloria (Robert) Smith of Aberdeen; and Janice (James) Thornton of Prior Lake, Minn.; great-grandchildren: Hailey Rudolph and Johnathan Rudolph; brother, Eugene (Jeanette) Kline of Aberdeen; sisters: Dorothy (Arthur) Heinrich of Aberdeen and Dianne (Jerry) Heagley of Fargo, N.D.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Nicholas and Philipina Kline; sisters: Marie (Albert) Schule of Minneapolis, Minn., and Amelia (Mae) Leo Kallas of Aberdeen; three sons: Kenneth D. Lapka, David L. Lapka and James M. Lapka.
A memorial Mass is scheduled for May 25, 2013, starting at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Woodland, Calif. The Woodland Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
