On Sept. 17, 1955, he married Maxine Stevenson at the Faulkton Methodist Church. Together, they raised 10 children. They lived at several locations over the years, including northwest Faulk County, central Faulk County and the Orient area. Throughout the years, he was employed by Faulkton-area farmers.
Roger was an avid Hampshire sheep breeder. He was a member of the Hampshire Sheep Association, as are his two sons, who have inherited his love of sheep. A highlight for him was showing his sheep at local and state fairs. For many years, he was active in 4-H and also served as a 4-H leader.
Roger attended the United Church of Faulkton. He enjoyed playing cards and was an enthusiastic gardener and always enjoyed sharing his garden produce with the community.
