Webster: Dolores Berg, 87, of Webster died on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Bethesda Home in Webster.

 Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, with Pastor Marion Grimes officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Lily.

 Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

 Dolores Pippert was born on Monday, Aug. 24, 1925, to Ray and Matie (Clausen) Pippert in Clark, S.D. She grew up in the Bancroft/Crandall/Butler areas and went to Sunnyside country school and graduated from Butler High School in 1943. After high school, she went to Seattle, Wash., to work with her sister, Carol, as a riveter on the wing sections of the Boeing B-17 bombers. She returned to the area and taught school for one year at Oak Gulch/Crandall School.

 She married her high school sweetheart, Marvin Berg of Lily, on May 29, 1946, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. The couple lived in Aberdeen for a few months before returning to Lily, where they resided for 57 years. While in Lily, she served as the Lily Lutheran Church secretary and town clerk for many years. She was also a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lily. She worked at Dakotah, Inc. and Dakota Diner before retiring. For many years, she took care of her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Grace and Peter Berg. After Marvin's death in 2003, she moved to Webster and has lived in her own home until her recent illness.

 Her hobbies included canning, bowling, gardening and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed fishing and spending time at her lake cabin. She was a wonderful cook and liked getting her family together for any special occasion. She enjoyed time with the family and playing cards. She especially enjoyed visits from her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She always enjoyed visits from her son, Larry, and his dog, Bear.

 Dolores passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Webster, S.D., at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 20 days.

 Survivors include her three sons: Larry Berg of Webster, Steve (Susan) Berg of Lily and Michael (Rebecca) Berg of Dubuque, Iowa; three daughters: Linda (Jim) Kane of Enemy Swim Lake, Gloria (John) Ewalt of Webster and Bonnie Berg of Sioux Falls; 11 grandchildren: Lori (Daniel Gregory) Kane, Jennifer (Cam Newlin) Kane, Lisa (Barry) Loomis, Jason (Jen) Berg, Brad Berg, Cory (Jessica) Berg, Amy (Jámie) Jones, Peter (and fiancé, Stefanie Felton) Berg, Melissa (Dustin) Lee, Kasey Sinning and Logan Sinning; three step-grandchildren: Amanda (Jesse) Sell, Heather Finstad and Jamie Finstad; five great-grandchildren: Zachary and Tanner Loomis, Liam Berg,  Kadance Streyle and Abigail Sell; two sisters-in-law: Doris Evenson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joyce Jensen of Joliette, Wyo.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings: Carol (Burt), Bill and infant brother; and brothers-in-law, Orville Evenson and Richard Jensen.
