North Washington: Hartley A. "Borch" Borchers, 92, of the North Washington section of Washington Township, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Woodhaven Care Center in Monroeville, Pa.
Born Nov. 9, 1920, in Britton, he was the son of the late Alfred and Jeanne (Axtell) Borchers. Borch formerly resided in Mobridge until he moved to North Washington, where he lived for the last 16 years.
He was employed by Lehman's in Hecla as a farm equipment salesman for many years until his retirement in 1985.
Borch was a graduate of Aberdeen High School. He served his country during World War II with the Army, and was also a lifetime member of the Elks.
Borch enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography; he followed the local scholastic wrestling teams and took their photos.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jeanne Borchers, on July 19, 2003.
He is survived by his daughters: Sharlene (James) "Cherrie" Wylie of North Washington and Patricia H. Borchers of Minnetonka, Minn.; two grandsons: Bart James Wylie of Denver, Colo., and Cody Patrick (Kristan) Wylie of North Washington; great-granddaughter, Dakota Wylie of North Washington; and several cousins.
At Borch's request, there will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, PA.
