Oskaloosa, Iowa: Donnita Marie (Six) Jarvis, 50, of Oskaloosa passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. to greet visitors.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Garland-Van Arkel- Langkamp Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name.
Donnita Marie Jarvis, daughter of Donald and Vernita Marie Vetch Tuscherer, was born March 28, 1963, in Faulkton. She was a 1981 graduate of Cresbard High School. After high school, she married David Jarvis, and to that union, two sons were born. They later divorced. Donnita then attended South Dakota State University, where she received her nursing degree. After college, she moved to Oskaloosa, where she married Todd Six; they later divorced. She began her nursing career at Pella Regional Hospital, where she worked for several years. She later taught nursing at Indian Hills Community College.
Donnita was a member of Phi-Beta-Kappa. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and spending time in her pool with her grandchildren.
Her family includes her two sons: Justin (Jennifer) Jarvis and Brandon (Jenny) Jarvis, all of Oskaloosa; three grandsons: Trae, Skyler and Levi Jarvis; and a granddaughter, soon to be; her parents, Donald and Vernita Tuscherer of Onaka, S.D.; one sister, Rhonda (Jeff) Swanhorst of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; three brothers: Darwin (Camille) Tuscherer of Cresbard, Darrell (Rhonda) Tuscherer of Ipswich and Sheldon Tuscherer of Fargo, N.D.; and a special friend, Jeff Slobe of Oskaloosa.
Donnita was preceded in death by a sister, Lori-Ann Tuscherer; and one grandson, Joshua Jarvis.
