Ipswich: Jeanette Jeanie Julia (Sattler) Hopfinger, 78, was called to Heaven on June 18, 2013, with family by her side.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 Main St., Aberdeen, with Pastor Marcia Sylvester officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at the mortuary, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Jeanette was born to Henry William and Magdalina (Kallenberger) Sattler in Ipswich on Dec. 30, 1934.
Jeanette and her family moved from Ipswich to Aberdeen, where she met and married Paul Hopfinger. They had seven children together and made Aberdeen their home, where Jeanette worked as a nurse's aide for Americana Nursing Home. After her divorce, she then moved to Florida in 1978. She made her residence in Eustis/Mt. Dora, Florida area, where she worked as an aide in the nursing home and also worked as a housekeeper for the HarryAnna Crippled Children's Hospital. She later returned to Ipswich in 2006, where she resided at Golden Living Center until her passing.
Jeanette treasured the time spent with her family and friends. Her enjoyments were bingo, dancing, bowling and fishing. She had relentless zest for life and outstanding spirit. She was an inspiration to all who knew her; she will be missed but not forgotten.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Henry and Ted; two grandsons; two brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her children, three sons: Lyle (Donna) Hopfinger of Mina, Larry (Melinda) Hopfinger of Aberdeen and Kevin (Kimberly) Hopfinger of Aberdeen; two daughters: Terri Hagman of Aberdeen and Heidi (Richard) Troendle of Eustis, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Velma Tootsie Bayless of California.
