Alice Wixon, 75, of Pierre passed away Friday, June 21, in Sioux Falls.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, with the prayer service at 7 p.m. June 25, both at Isburg Funeral Chapel.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Faith Lutheran Church, with Pastor Brad Urbach officiating.
Inurnment will take place at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Arrangements have been placed in care of Isburg Funeral Chapel.
God blessed Leo and Frances (Reinsma) Kepler with Alice Joan on May 14, 1938, in Slayton, Minn. Alice and her siblings grew up in Slayton, where she graduated from high school in 1957. Later that year, she met Forrest, the love of her life, at a roller skating rink. From that first meeting, she knew he was the one. After a few more dates and a lot of butterfly feelings, they were married on Sept. 20, 1958. An adventure began.
Through the years, she and Forrest enjoyed dancing, traveling, hunting, fishing, water skiing, motorcycle riding, flying, amusement parks, gardening, playing cards, cruises and so much more. The only thing that Alice took more enjoyment in was the time spent together with their five children. After raising her children, she loved to shower her grandchildren and many other children with unconditional grandmotherly love.
She is survived by her husband, Forrest; children: Dawn (Ed) Cronin, Denise (Maloy) Loof, Mark (Deb) Wixon, Deborah (Robert) Green, and Cynthia (Todd) Loecker; siblings: Vern (Bonnie) Kepler, Ruth Roeder, Donald (Connie) Kepler, Les Kepler, Phillip (Cindy) Kepler, Neva (Dave) Swanson, Gloria McMahon and Dave Kepler; and grandchildren: Patrick (Elizabeth), Michael and Meaghan Cronin, Denai, Danessa and Devin Likness, Moriah and Levi Wixon, Amanda Goglin and Matthew Green and Jared and Isabelle Loecker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Kenneth Kepler, Robert Kepler and Sandra Kepler.
