Redfield: Phyllis Marie Schultz Ehrich, 88, of Redfield died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
Her funeral will be Monday, July 1, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Tulare United Church. The Rev. Tim Fugman will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Tulare.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Eastern Star Home Chapel. The family will be present after 6 p.m. to accept your condolences.
Phyllis was born to Gunther and Marie (Clark) Otto on May 25, 1925. Following graduation from Tulare High School, she married Delmar Schultz. To this union were born three sons: Roger, Alan and Robert.
On the farm, Phyllis gardened, canned and cooked marvelous meals for hired men and visiting hunters. Mardi Gras was an annual event, with the Tulare gang usually taking the prize for best costume.
Delmar died in 1980. Phyllis later married Robert Ehrich and they resided in Piedmont.
Phyllis enjoyed making and teaching ceramics, making porcelain dolls, painting still life, toll painting and counted cross-stitch. The dolls were her legacy to her family. Crossword puzzles were her daily challenge.
Following Robert's death, Phyllis returned to this area and resided at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Robert (Cindy) Schultz of Tulare; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; sons: Alan and Roger; and brothers: Dale, Glen, Jim and Dean.
