 Mass of Christian burial for Magdalena B. Schumacher, 86, of Ipswich and formerly of Aberdeen will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich, with Father Randy Phillips officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.

 Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may sign her online guestbook at schriversmemorial.com.

 Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at the mortuary in Aberdeen, and one hour prior to Mass on Friday at the church.

 Magdalena passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Ipswich. Blessed be her memory.

 Magdalena B. Fettig was born on Dec. 20, 1925, in Strasburg, N.D., to Frank and Magdalena (Doll) Fettig. This is the area where she was raised and attended school.

 Magdalena was united in marriage to Reinhold R. Schumacher on Nov. 24, 1946, in Aberdeen. The couple lived in Rapid City and Aberdeen for a short time before moving to Redfield. Their union was blessed with seven children. Magdalena and Reinhold shared over 30 years of marriage before he passed away in March of 1977. Magdalena was the head cook for the Redfield School for many years until the time of her retirement. She moved to Aberdeen in 1987.

 Magdalena was active in her church and spent much of her time doing volunteer work in the community. In August 2011, she became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Ipswich, where she continued to make her home until the time of her death.

 Blessed to have shared her life are her children: Richard (Jean) Schumacher of Garland, Texas, Sheila (Jake) Dutt of Aberdeen, Lynn Wernsmann of Thornton, Colo., Susan Schumacher of Gansevoort, N.Y., Steven (Cheryl) Schumacher of Bartlett, Tenn., Gregory (Karen) Schumacher of Rapid City and Bryan (Tamara) Schumacher of Rapid City; her grandchildren: Richelle Mantooth of Plano, Texas, Sherri (Ken) Stahl of Aberdeen, Tina (Bert) Jackson of Castle Rock, Colo., Elizabeth (Manny) Windhorst of Las Vegas, Nev., Rachel (Travis) Ketchel of Thornton, Colo., Shayne (Bobie) Schumacher of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Sandy Hicks of Sterling, Colo., Melyssa Hicks of Gansevoort, N.Y., Nathan (Faraah) Schumacher and Melissa (Matt) Hatley, all of Bartlett, Tenn., Jordan, Jeremy and Joshua Schumacher and Dominic and Benjamin Schumacher, all of Rapid City; 22 great- grandchildren; two brothers: Frank Fettig of Le Sueur, Minn., and Lawrence Fettig of Des Moines, Iowa; and two sisters: Margaret Devries and Sophia Schumacher, both of Sioux Falls.

 Magdalena is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reinhold; three brothers: George, Martin and Matt; and one sister, Mary.
