Dorothy Lucille Schultze, 93, of Sioux Falls passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Community. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, with visitation one hour prior to the service, in the Sacred Heart Chapel, 4500 Prince of Peace Place, Sioux Falls.
Interment will take place Thursday at St. Bernard Cemetery in Redfield.
Dorothy Lucille Schultze was born on April 7, 1920, in Tulare to William and Helen (Roos) Schultze. She grew up and attended the local school system in Tulare. After graduation from high school, Dorothy enrolled at Aberdeen Business College in Aberdeen. Her first job was in Redfield, where she worked for Bill Beckman during his term as states attorney.
In 1941, Dorothy moved to Aberdeen and was employed by Mobil Oil Corporation. She was transferred to Sioux Falls in 1960 and worked for Mobil until her retirement in 1978. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved golfing, bowling and traveling. Dorothy was member of St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls. She moved to the Prince of Peace Retirement Community in 2001.
Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory include nieces: Pat (Ed) Jacobsen of Pierre, Judy (Bob) Hammond of Anoka, Minn., and Jean (Dean) Black of Somers, Iowa; nephews: Bill (Cindy) Schultze of Columbia, Doug (Nancy) Schultze of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jim (Joan) Schultze of Rapid City; niece-in-law Paula Schultze of Tulare; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harold Schultze; sister-in-law, Winnie Schultze; and nephew, Bob Schultze.
