Memorial service for Larry L. Huffman, 66, of Aberdeen will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Ramada Convention Center, 2727 Sixth Ave. S.E., Aberdeen. The Rev. Jeff Whillock will officiate.
Larry died July 23, 2013, in a construction accident in Aberdeen.
Larry L. Huffman was born July 15, 1947, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, to Frank and Veda (Bailey) Huffman. As a child, he moved to North Dakota and later helped his parents farm and raise cattle in the Brampton area. Larry attended school in Brampton until 1961 and later graduated from Sargent Central High School, Forman, N.D., in 1966.
He was united in marriage to Lois Kadoun on Sept. 6, 1969, at Brampton Lutheran Church. Together, they farmed and raised two children, before retiring from farming in 1994. Larry then went on to work at Pearson's in Britton for two years and then at Martinson's Lumber in Forman, N.D. In 1998, they moved to Aberdeen, where he began working for Lien Transportation until the time of his death.
Larry had a great love for family and especially enjoyed fishing with his wife and kids. His new pontoon was his pride and joy and was made use of every chance he got. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and enjoyed not only the hunt, but the processing of the game. He was also fond of four-wheeling with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who were lucky enough to share in his life.
Larry is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Joe (Mary); daughter, Jennifer (Sean) Nelson; two brothers: James (Theresa) Fields and Terry (Kathy) Huffman; sister, Becky (James) Sorby; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Veda; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen has been entrusted with arrangements.
