Sioux Falls: Paula Jane Albrecht-Dement, 41, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She had battled cancer on and off for the past five years.
Christian services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 N. Cliff Ave., in Sioux Falls.
Burial services will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013.
Arrangements were with Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls and Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
On Jan. 13, 1972, Paula was born to Milbert and LaVern Albrecht of Long Lake. She attended school at Long Lake through first grade, then went on to school at Leola, where she graduated. Paula then attended the University of South Dakota, where she received a degree in political science.
Paula worked at the Minnehaha County Public Advocates office as an administrative assistant until her illness overcame her.
Paula was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Sioux Falls. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include her parents, Milbert and LaVern Albrecht of Aberdeen; sisters: Pam (Bruce) Bettmeng of Sioux Falls and twin sister, Patricia Albrecht of Sioux Falls; one niece, Alexandra Bettmeng; and two nephews: Zachary Bettmeng and Micah Albrecht, all of Sioux Falls; and a friend, Greg Ambrose of Sioux Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dement; and grandparents, Wilhelm and Emma Gohl and Wilhelm and Christina Albrecht.
