Marjorie Clarine Christenson was born in Aberdeen on Dec. 28, 1919, to William and Carrie (Aandall) Christenson. She was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran on March 25, 1920, where she remained a faithful member throughout her 93 years of life.
Marjorie graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1937. She then attended Northern Normal, now Northern State University. Since her father didn't learn to drive or own a car, she was forced to walk from 408 N Second St., to NSU if she wanted to go to school. She also had to walk back home for lunch. Needless to say, her college career came to an end after one semester.
In the meantime, Marge met the love of her life, Blair Nichols, at the Wylie Park Dance Pavilion. They were married in 1938 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, much to her mother's lamenting that "the marriage will never last!" The marriage lasted 64 years! She was Blair's business partner with the Imperial Chemical Company in Aberdeen.
Four boys were born from this marriage: William Raymond (Lynne Rivett) Nichols, Harrison Ark.; Thomas Blair (Judy Rentschler) Nichols, deceased; Gerald Allen (Galynn Gilchrist) Nichols, Aberdeen; and Scott Robert (Judy Briones) Nichols, Nuevo, Calif.
Marge is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was active at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, belonging to Circle 7 in her earlier years. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, bridge clubs and golf leagues at Moccasin Creek and Aberdeen Country Clubs.
Family and her many wonderful friends from Pickerel Lake days; Pharr, Texas; and Aberdeen made up her very busy social life.
Marge was also an avid Twins, Vikings, and NASCAR fan.
She now joins her husband, Blair; son, Tom; daughter-in-law, Lynne; and sister, Bernice Disbrow in heaven.
