Aberdeen: George Robert Bob Gilborne, 82, of Aberdeen passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 318 South Kline St., Aberdeen, with Pastor Jennifer Turick officiating.
Burial follows at Riverside Cemetery, Aberdeen with military rites being conducted by the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post No. 24 of Aberdeen.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
George Robert Gilborne was born on Aug. 18, 1930, in Wetonka, to Davis C. and Catherine (Kaven) Gilborne. He was raised in the Wetonka area and attended rural schools before becoming employed with Pfeiffer's Flooring, where he worked for several years.
In December 1950, George married Claudine Brooks at Mina.
In January 1951, George entered the U.S. Army and served his country in active duty during the Korean War. He was recognized with two Bronze Service Stars for exemplary service, before receiving his honorable discharge in 1953.
Upon his return to Aberdeen, George began working for Mobile Oil Company. He and Claudine shared over 19 years of marriage, before she passed away in June 1970.
George was united in marriage to Evonne Gebhardt in Aberdeen on April 17, 1971. The couple made their home at Mina Lake. George was employed as a bulk oil driver for Brown County Coop until his retirement in September 1987. In 2003, he and Evonne moved to Aberdeen, where George continued to reside until the time of his death.
George was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Aberdeen, serving in all offices and capacities, in addition to receiving the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 2004. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 17 and the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post No. 24 of Aberdeen, serving on the Funeral Honor Guard for many years. George was also an avid bowler over the years and especially enjoyed bowling in The Moose League.
Blessed to have shared his life are his wife, Evonne Gilborne of Aberdeen; his brother, Dean (Darlene) Gilborne of Aberdeen; and several nieces and nephews.
George's parents; and first wife preceded him in death.
