Frankfort: Dennis L. Miller, 66, of Frankfort died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
His funeral will be Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. The Rev. Brian Wasmoen will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.
Visitation will be Monday from 1 to 8 p.m., with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Thelen Funeral Home.
Dennis Leroy Miller was born May 20, 1947, in Aberdeen to Norman and Elsie (Swanson) Miller. He attended country school north of Frankfort, Frankfort School and graduated from Redfield High School.
Dennis married Peggy Myers on July 9, 1977, and to this union three children were born.
He lived his entire life on the family farm north of Frankfort. Along with farming, Dennis enjoyed carpentry, hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being able to help his children in any way possible and was a jack of all trades. He created many masterpieces from items that had previously served another purpose. He had a knack for remembering dates. He enjoyed getting together and visiting with friends and neighbors.
Dennis was a life-long member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 36 years, Peggy; his children: Dawn (Brad) Englund of Pierre, Dustin (Ashli) Miller of Mina and Nikki (Matt) Rogers of Ree Heights; his grandchildren: Jayde and Eli Englund of Pierre, Makenna Miller of Gettysburg, Paige Maher, Jerzi and Chance Miller of Mina, Madelynn and TJ Rogers of Ree Heights. He is also survived by his mother, Elsie Miller, of Redfield; his brother, Roger (Cheryl) Miller of Silt, Colo.; his sister, Linea (Larry) Schoenhard of Chamberlain; his mother-in-law, Gladys Myers, of Faulkton; sisters-in-law: Wanda (Paul) Jundt of Eureka, Gloria (Ron) Sievert of Aberdeen and Nancy (Kevin) Koester of Faulkton; his aunts: Ruth Swanson of Redfield, Cecil Miller of Huron and Dorothy Allen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman; his father-in-law, Everett Myers; and his nephew, Jayde Miller.
