Mobridge: Funeral services for Hulda Pauline Badure, 95, of Mobridge will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mobridge.
Burial will be in the Mobridge City Cemetery, under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Visitation will start at 2 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
Hulda passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Mobridge.
Hulda was born March 10, 1918, in Lowry to Henry and Natalie (Miller) Herman.
She was baptized on May 19, 1918, at Baer Trinity Lutheran Church of Hoven and confirmed on July 18, 1933, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Bowdle.
She moved to Mobridge in 1936 with her parents and siblings from Hoven and worked to help support the family.
Hulda married Edwin "Bill" Badure on March 31, 1943. Together, they had eight children, and all were raised in the same house that she so proudly resided in for nearly 70 years.
Hulda was a cook at several restaurants in Mobridge: Chinaman Joes, American, Sereno, Silver Grill, Embers, Country Club, the Wheel Family restaurant and the Moose. She was the first cook at the New Senior Nutrition Center and was very proud to be there from the beginning and serving nutritious, hot meals. She then retired from the Wheel at age 73.
Hulda is survived by one son, Darreld (Carol) Badure of Mobridge; and four daughters: Janice Kienzle of Bayard, Neb., Julie (Jim) Naasz of Bemidji, Minn., Jackie (Brian) Carpenter, Aberdeen and Jamie Lynd of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Eleanor Aipperspach of Lakewood, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Bill" in 1985; daughters: Joan Stensaas in 1984 and Jannelle Ochsner in 1994; and son, Donald Badure in 2000.
