Aberdeen: The memorial service for Regina Ginny Kessler, 89, of Aberdeen, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, Aberdeen, with Pastor Randy Battey officiating. Burial will be at Martin Baptist Cemetery, Martin, N.D. at a later date.
Regina died Tuesday, Sept. 3, at her home in Aberdeen.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Regina Helen Feist was born on March 30, 1924, to Anton and Helen (Weineger) Feist in Oren, N.D. She grew up and attended school in the area, graduating from Anamoose High School.
On Aug. 24, 1946, Ginny married Milton V. Kessler in Portland, Ore. They moved to Wahpeton, N.D. for two years and Ginny worked for Rosemeade. In 1950, they moved to Harvey, N.D., and later made their home in Martin, N.D. In 1997, they moved to Aberdeen. Ginny was very active as a volunteer at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.
Ginny was a long-time member of the Martin Baptist Church. She became a member of Calvary Baptist Church after moving to Aberdeen and was active with the serving committees and funeral committee.
Ginny enjoyed gardening and fishing. She loved feeding birds and bird-watching. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her red velvet birthday cakes she made for everyone. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and great-grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons: Darrel (Lorelie) Kessler, Aberdeen and David Kessler, Salt Lake City, Utah; her daughter, Debbie (Randy) Coon, Fargo, N.D.; sister, Magdelin Lampman, Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren: Lisa (Mike) Reinhiller, Janel (Brian) Sandvig, Shawn (Amy) Kessler, Sarah (Jeff) Roberts; and great-grandchildren: Logan Reinhiller, Brock Reinhiller, Taylor Reinhiller, Jacob Sandvig, Jack Sandvig, Ella Sandvig and Zoey Kessler.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Anton and Helen Feist; her husband, Milton Kessler; and her brothers: Anton Feist, Michael Feist and Eddie Feist; and her sisters: Maria Black, Katy Sherlock, Minnie Stumpf and Maryeve Sherlock.
