Marvin Bitz was born on June 1, 1948, at Eureka to Edwin and Anna (Heiser) Bitz. At a young age, he and his family moved to Aberdeen. Marvin attended country school until the eighth grade and completed his high school years at Aberdeen Central. Following graduation, he began working for Hub City Inc., which would eventually turn into a 40-year career there.
Marvin was united in marriage to Marlene Zacher on June 28, 1969, in Aberdeen. Their union was blessed with three sons, Robert, Roger and Sheldon. The family made their home on a farm near Aberdeen. Marvin continued his love of farming until 2006, when he started Bitz Equipment and Trailer Sales along with his wife and youngest son.
Marvin was an avid race fan and enjoyed attending both stock car and go-kart races. He especially liked helping his boys with their racecars. Most of all, Marvin loved spending time with his grandson, teaching him many things, including how to drive a four-speed pickup. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many, many friends.
Grateful for sharing Marvin's life is his wife of 44 years, Marlene Bitz; sons, Robert (Kimberly) Bitz, Roger Bitz, and Sheldon Bitz; and grandson, Tyler Bitz, all of Aberdeen; and one brother.
Marvin's grandparents; parents; and one sister preceded him in death.
