Aberdeen: Funeral services for Julia A. "Judy" Rasmussen, 72, of Aberdeen will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Eldon Reich officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Judy passed on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.
Visitation was 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home.
Judy Ann Brede was born July 27, 1941, to Tony and Hilda (Edwards) Brede in Doland. She attended school in Doland and was the fourth of five children.
In 1959, Judy was married to Dean Rasmussen. In 1960, they moved to Carpenter, where Dean was manager of Farmers Union Oil Co. and Judy became the bookkeeper. Later, they moved to Pierre and Judy accepted the bookkeeper position for the Pierre Farmers Union Oil Co.
After a few years, Judy accepted the management position of a fabric store in Pierre. Later, the family moved to Aberdeen and Judy worked for K-Mart for a time, and then began a 20-year career with Wells-Fargo Bank as a teller. In 2001, Judy took retirement, and the couple started going south near McAllen, Texas, or Mesa, Ariz., for the winters.
Judy was always a very good-natured person and enjoyed her work serving people. She won several awards at Wells-Fargo. She always saw the good in the people she served. She enjoyed visiting her Red Hat friends for lunch and a Coke.
Judy will be missed by her husband, Dean Rasmussen; two sons: Douglas (Jennifer Fauth) Rasmussen and Jay Rasmussen, Aberdeen; one daughter, Dawn Brester, Green Bay, Wis.; six grandchildren: Eric Rasmussen, Logan, Payton and Megan Rasmussen, their mother, Brandi, Aberdeen, Alex and Breleigh Brester, Green Bay; great-granddaughter, Faith Ann Rasmussen, Fort Dodge, Iowa; her brother, Dick Brede, Carpenter; and sister, June Litton, Peabody, Kan. She will be missed by all her friends and family.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom; and sister, Nancy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Waterman and the staff at Aberdeen Health and Rehab for their wonderful care.
