Marty passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Martha "Marty" Susanne Jenkins was born on July 6, 1961, in Virginia, Minn., to James Leonard and Lois H. (Carlson) Jenkins. She was raised and attended school in the Minneapolis area, graduating from Bloomington Kennedy High School with the Class of 1979.
Marty became employed with Telelect Incorporated in Minnesota and was later transferred to Watertown. She obtained her degree in nursing and became a registered nurse. In 2006, Marty moved to Aberdeen and began her career with Avera St. Luke's Hospital. She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.
Marty was a very accomplished musician. She was a singer and keyboard player with several area bands and was currently performing with the band, "No Surprize" out of Watertown.
Grateful for sharing Marty's life are her daughter, Jessica (Aaron) Quam of Watertown; her grandchild, Rya Quam; her fiancé, Kevin Pleinis of Aberdeen; her father, Jim Jenkins of Bloomington, Minn.; her mother and stepfather, Lois (Jack) Schorle of Bloomington, Minn.; three brothers: David (Becky) Jenkins of St. Paul, Minn.; Darryl (Beth) Schorle of Minnetonka, Minn.; and Doug (Heather) Schorle of Atlantic, Iowa; two sisters: Beth (Scott) Limpert of Edina, Minn.; and Claudia (Mark) Miller of Eau Claire, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
