 Funeral services for LeRoy C. Schock, 78, Leola will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at St. James Lutheran Church, Pastor Deb Grismer officiating. Burial at Green Mound Cemetery, Leola. 

 LeRoy died peacefully at his home on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, with his wife at his side. He battled a lengthy illness and was in the care of his wife and family and North Plains Hospice staff and friends.

 Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen.

 LeRoy Clarence Schock was born on April 7, 1934, at rural Long Lake to Christoph and Christina (Hoffman) Schock. He attended rural grade school near Long Lake. He farmed with his parents at an early age and became known throughout the area in buying and selling Holstein Dairy Cattle.

 On June 19, 1960, he married Eileen Albrecht and they lived on the family farm for 36 years, when he retired in 1993, due to his health. They then moved into Leola, where he was living at the time of his death. 

 LeRoy was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Leola, and he was baptized and confirmed from Hope Lutheran Church, rural Long Lake. 

 Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 52 years, Eileen Schock, Leola; brother, Elmer (Norma) Schock, Leola; stepsisters: Martha Jerke of Aberdeen, Anna (Harold) Bauer of Gettysburg, Marcella Bonnet of Valencia, Calif.; stepbrothers: Melvin (Vangie) Albrecht of Deadwood, Paul (Helen) Albrecht of Grass Valley, Calif., Thomas (Mindy) Albrecht of Bismarck, N.D.; many nieces; nephews; and 10 godchildren.

 LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Christoph and Christina Schock; stepmother, Anna Schock; stepsisters: Alice Wilson and Gertrude Kreitel; stepbrothers: Herbert, Albert, Milbert and Allen Albrecht.
