Faye Waddington

Redfield: Faye Waddington, 97, of Redfield died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Her funeral will be Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational UCC Church in Redfield. The Rev. Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., with the family present from 4 to 5 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Faye was born March 30, 1915, in Tulare to Harry and Emma (Hamlin) Wilbur. She attended rural school and graduated from Redfield High School. She worked for eight years for Montgomery Ward and Company.

Faye and Dean Waddington were married Aug. 23, 1944, in Redfield. Faye then worked for Northwestern Public Service for 28 years.

Faye and Dean lived at Cottonwood Lake most of their married life and enjoyed entertaining family and friend at the lake. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking.

She was a member of First Congregational UCC Church, VFW auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, South Dakota Peace Officers Auxiliary, Senior Citizens. While they lived at the lake they were members of the Wheaton Church.

Faye is survived by her husband, Dean, of Redfield; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
