Richard L. Nipp was born May 8, 1943, the fifth child of John and Mary Nipp. After attending Loyalton Grade School, he attended and graduated from Roscoe High School in 1961.
He met and married Darlene K. Allbee, the love of his life, on July 18, 1964. Together they had three sons: David, infant son James Ray, and Jason.
After working for several local farmers most of his life, he started working for Common Sense Manufacturing, where he was employed for eight years, until health issues forced him to retire.
He was a longtime member of the local IOOF chapter, where he served multiple terms as Noble Grand. He enjoyed rolling dice with his friends, as well as playing cards at the Autumn Leaves Senior Center. He was a member of various bowling teams over the years, where both he and Darlene looked forward to the state bowling tournaments. In more recent years, he became a member of Lakeside Country Club where he had taken up, and thoroughly enjoyed, the gentlemen's sport of golf.
All during his health issues, he always had an upbeat and positive outlook on life and the future. He was a man of compassion and courage and he will be greatly missed.
Richard is survived by his loving sons: David (Renee) Nipp of Sparrow Bush, N.Y., and Jason Nipp of Woodridge, Ill.; two grandchildren, who will miss him very much, Krystal and James Nipp of Sparrow Bush, N.Y.; one brother, Ted (Kathy) Nipp of Aberdeen; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife, son, parents, grandparents, four brothers and one sister.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Richard's arrangements.
