Burial at 1 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery at Mobridge, with a reception to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church.
There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. Friday, with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Claire died Dec. 20, 2012, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.
Claire L. Hanning was born July 26, 1936, in Pollock to Harley and Edith (Boschker) Hanning. She attended school in Pollock and, in December 1952, she married Maynard Martin in Pollock. After their marriage they moved to a farm located east of Ashley, N.D. In 1957, they returned to South Dakota and farmed the Martin homestead near Mound City.
In 1982, they moved to Dickinson, N.D., where Claire worked at Ivanhoe Hotel and Restaurant, later moving to Aberdeen to be near their family. Claire worked at the Starlite Café. In 1996, she and Maynard moved to Mobridge, where they worked at Bargain Mart until 2005. Maynard died Jan. 12, 2006. In 2007, Claire retired and moved back to Aberdeen to be near her family.
Claire is survived by her children: Daniel (Shelley) Martin of Hermosa, Robert (Dona) Martin of Bow of New Hampshire, Linda (Jon Paggett) Aberle of Aberdeen, Bruce (Cheryl) Martin of Aberdeen and Timothy (Rosemary) Martin of Mina; sister-in-law, Ilse Hanning of Lemmon Grove, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters; one brother; and one grandson, Douglas Aberle.
Honorary casketbearers will be T.J. Martin and Douglas Aberle.
Casketbearers will be Matt Martin, Donald Martin, James Martin, Scott Aberle, Michael Martin and Chris Martin.
