Estes Park, Colo., and Aberdeen, S.D., resident Marvin Kaiser died Saturday evening Dec. 22, 2012, at Prospect Park Living Center in Estes Park. He was 83 years old.
Marvin Eugene Kaiser was born July 2, 1929, in Milliken, Colo. His parents were John and Amelia (Betz) Kaiser. Marvin graduated from Gill, Colo., High School. On September 18, 1950, he married Barbara Erickson in Denver. They had lived in Grand Junction, Colo., Fruita, Colo., and Aberdeen, S.D. They moved to Estes Park from Lyons, S.D.
Marvin was a self-employed trucker and had worked at VanWaters and Rogers as a salesman and at Colorado Steel and Wire as a salesman and driver. He was an independent trucker from 1977, until his health forced him to retire in 2008.
He was a member of the Episcopal faith and had attended St. Bartholomew's Church in Estes Park and St. Mark's in Aberdeen. He enjoyed making crafts and traveling with his life-size statues of the Blues Brothers.
Marvin is survived by his children: Eric Kaiser of Fayetteville, N.C., Marvin C. Kaiser of Joliet, Ill., and Sonya Binns of Estes Park, Colo.; and grandson, Justin Kaiser of Joliet, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara, in 1994; daughters: Thea Kaiser-Owen and Rise Kaiser; son, Greg Kaiser; two brothers; and a sister.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3800 West 20th St in Greeley, Colo.
