Inurnment will be in Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery in Kidder in the spring.
Marie died Dec. 27, 2012, at Marshall County Health Care Center in Britton.
Marie R. Vander Vorst, daughter of Clifford and Eileen (Sautter) Vander Vorst, was born Sept. 12, 1952, in Britton. This is where she grew up while attending school in Britton. She graduated from Langford High School. She worked for her stepfather Ivan at the Strand Theatre in Britton.
She was united in marriage to Max Davidson on Sept. 5, 1969. They made their home in Aberdeen. In the mid-1970s, they returned to Britton, where they started Max Davidson Plumbing and Heating. Marie also worked as an accountant. She then became employed at the Horton Factory and later was injured on the job and had to stop working in 1996.
She was united in marriage to Brett Myklegard on Aug. 31, 1996, in Britton. Marie was a gifted artist with training in the Bob Ross technique. She was teaching her grandchildren the love of painting. She had a tremendous love of horses going back to her childhood and cherished the time riding with her stepfather, Ivan. Marie loved spending time at their cabin at Buffalo Lake.
Marie was a member of First Lutheran Church in Britton, Women of First Lutheran and Prayer Rock Museum Board for many years and had served as chairwoman.
Marie is survived by her husband, Brett; two sons: Travis (Amanda) Davidson of Lake Madison and Tate (Cristy) Davidson of Britton; her mother, Eileen Besse of Britton; two sisters: Linda (Hugh) Ogara of Hill City and Sandy Erb of Shelbyville, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
Her father, Clifford; and stepfather, Ivan Besse, preceded her in death.
Urnbearers will be Ron and Becky Freeman and John and Marlene Hickey.
Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen has been entrusted with arrangements.
