Kenneth "Kenny" Sass, 67, of Webster died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster.
Burial will be in St. Otto's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster, with a wake service at 7 p.m.
Kenny was born on Oct. 4, 1945, in Webster to Leo and Angela (Gort) Sass. He attended rural country school near their home until the eighth grade. In 1963, he graduated from Webster High School. Following school, he entered the South Dakota National Guard, where he served for six years.
After the passing of Kenny's father, Kenny returned to the family farm and farmed until his passing. In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed doing side jobs during the fall and winter months.
Kenny was a member of the Herbert McKennett American Legion Post No. 40 of Webster, Cruising Classic Car Club, the Highland Township Board, and Christ The King Catholic Church.
Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding snowmobile, driving his 67 Plymouth GTX and spending time with his friends and family, especially his three granddaughters.
Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Chris (Amy) Sass of Clark; three granddaughters: Olivia, Ella and Alayna; and his special friend, Jane Dargatz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carolyn Neal.
