Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen.
Mackenzie Leigh Keplin was born on April 29, 1994, to Sherilee Pacheco in Aberdeen. This is the area where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 2012. She was really looking forward to continuing her studies and attending Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls to major in business.
Mackenzie enjoyed sewing and crafting, playing SkipBo, going swimming and spending time hanging out with her friends. She especially enjoyed being with her family, including going golfing with her grandpa so she could drive the cart, motorcycle runs, pool tournaments and especially shopping. She also liked to make late night runs to Taco Bell with her friends. She was named an "Honorary Old Lady" by the Aberdeen FM Crusaders. Mackenzie loved turtles and the color purple. Her dream was to own a purple Mini Cooper so she could drive her grandpa around. Mackenzie wanted to be a model, which would take her to New York and Paris.
Grateful for having shared Mackenzie's life are her mother, Sherilee; sisters: Makaia, Josephine and Jaylah; grandparents, Leland and Rhonda Baade; Uncle Ezra "Uncle Pizza" Baade; best friend, Shelby Purnell; special friend, Joan Weisser; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Elwin Baade and Marian Stone, Harold Withorne and Dee Warrick; aunt, Cheryl Saunders; and uncles: Steve Withorne, Rory, Stewart and Dana Baade.
A special message from the family: "Rest in peace our Precious Angel, we know you will watch over us and will live forever in our hearts."
