Arrangements were made by Glen Abbey Mortuary, Bonita, Calif., and a memorial service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Little Chapel of the Roses, Bonita, Calif.

Della A. Cessna, daughter of Minnie (Nultemeier) and Howard Cessna, was born as a twin to Ellen M. Cessna on Nov. 28, 1916, in Stebbins, N.D. At age 8, they moved to South Dakota, where they attended rural school and worked with their parents.

Later, George worked for the Imperial Beach School System and Della became a full-time housewife and mother. George passed away July 1990.

Della will always be remembered for her easy laugh, her kindness and her open hugs. Della enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, old time music and growing flowers.

Della is survived by three sisters: her twin, Ellen M. Papke of Mina; Naomi Lussier of Sioux Falls; and Olive Van Gelder of Rocky Ford, Colo.; two daughters: Esther (Rudy) Carter and Naomi Sumner; six grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1979; her mother in 1955; her husband; two sisters: Doris Heitz and Doreen Mathes; one brother: Oliver Cessna; and a set of infant twin brothers.
