Visitation will start at 5 p.m. at the church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Alma passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the Selby Good Samaritan Center.

Alma Marie Diedtrich was the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Roesch) Allmendinger. Born Oct. 18, 1922, she was the oldest of five children and lived her entire life in Walworth County.  She attended rural school at McKinley School through eighth grade.

She was married to Jacob A Diedtrich on Nov. 6, 1940. They lived on farms in the Selby area before buying the family farm from Jacob's father. They raised five children: Gene (Joyce) Diedtrich, Newcastle, Wyo.; Renada Wendland, Belle Fourche; Donna Bland, Rapid City; and Della (Bob) Flochinni, Aberdeen. The youngest child, Gary, preceded her in death in 2011. She is also survived by her brother, Leo (Genevieve) Allmendinger, Selby.

Alma enjoyed 20 plus years working at Stoick's Super Value and was well known for her kindness and honesty. She was a proud member of the TOPS Club for as many years as well. Many of her good friendships were forged at those meetings. Alma was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in the women's group and Bible Study Circle, and taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

She was a very proud grandmother to 13, great-grandmother to 24, and great-great-grandmother to 3. She enjoyed time spent with her family more than anything else.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006; a son; her parents; one sister, Esther; and two brothers, Raymond and Albert; as well as many extended family relatives.
