Myrtice Mae Gibson

Funeral service for Myrtice Mae Gibson, 57, of Aberdeen will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1620 Milwaukee Ave. N.E., Aberdeen, with Pastor Deb Grismer officiating. Burial will take place at Richland Cemetery, south of Mina.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

 Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

 Myrtice passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

 Myrtice Mae Larson was born on March 26, 1955, to Walter and Viola (Peterson) Larson at Aberdeen. She attended school in Britton and Aberdeen Central High School.

 Myrtice's son, Brent, was born in 1974.

 She was united in marriage to Jerome Gibson on June 20, 1980, in Aberdeen. They made Aberdeen their home, where Myrtice was employed at Banner Engineering for a year and a half, at Wal-Mart for five years and as a home health aide at Avera St. Luke's for 18 years. She continued to reside in Aberdeen until the time of her death.

 In her spare time, Myrtice enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends, and keeping up with her grandson's activities. She was a very active hockey and soccer Grandma. She also enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, knitting, crocheting, cooking and playing pinochle. She was always the first person offering assistance to anyone who needed anything.

 Blessed to have shared Myrtice's life are her husband, Jerome Gibson, of Aberdeen; her son, Brent (Jennifer) Danielson, of Aberdeen; two grandsons: Landon and Jaxon Danielson; two brothers: Larry (Dorothy) Larson of Omaha, Neb., and Walter (Wendy) Larson of Gilbert, Ariz.; two sisters: Virginia (Greg) Schaaf of Britton and Debbie (Bob) Becker of Fargo, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

 Her parents, brother, Lenny Larson; and sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Allen Simon; preceded Myrtice in death.
