Imogene J. Greeno passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, 2013.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1920, in Britton to Frank and Bertha Fisher and was raised on a farm near Britton. She graduated from Britton High School in 1937 and then attended Northern State Teachers' College in Aberdeen.
On Nov. 11, 1938, she married Laton Greeno and together they had eight daughters: Judith Carter (Gary), Rita Nesland (Leon Mayer), Rebecca Trujillo (Jack), Mary Holmes (Peter), Nancy Kremer (Patrick), Cynthia Dunford (George), Molly Greeno and Sally Greeno.
In 1977, after the death of her husband, she moved to McMinnville, Ore., where she worked as a library assistant at McMinnville High School. Mrs. Greeno was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Laton.
She is survived by her daughters; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was an extraordinary woman who was devoted to her family and she will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Chapel of Macy and Son at 2 p.m. on March 2, 2013, with Chaplain Harold Otterlei presiding.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Oregon Chapter in care of Macy and Son.
