Mass of Christian Burial for LaRue Alice Cantwell, 78, of Westport is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Westport. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 Fifht Ave. N.W., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, at the mortuary in Aberdeen with a liturgical wake service at 7 p.m.
Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church on Friday.
LaRue passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.

LaRue Alice Hastings was born on March 21, 1934, to Sam and Alice (Greeno) Hastings in Britton where she was raised and attended country schools. She later attended and graduated from Hecla High School in 1952.
LaRue was united in marriage to Bill Cantwell on Oct. 20, 1956, in Westport. The couple made their home in the Barnard/Frederick/Westport area. After raising her family, LaRue made her career working for the Internal Revenue Service in Aberdeen for 26 years. In November 2009, she suffered a crippling stroke and had been confined to nursing care until the time of her death.
Family was most important to LaRue and she cherished time spent with them, especially her grandchildren.
Blessed to have shared her life is her husband, Bill Cantwell, of Westport; her children: Karen Goodall of Aberdeen, Kelly (Wayne) Tisher of Lake City, Charlie (Teresa) Cantwell of Hudson, Colo., and Dan (Mary) Cantwell of Roseville; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Hastings, of Lafayette, Colo.; and two sisters-in-law: Claudia Hastings of Mayville, N.D., and Dolly Evans of Gold Canyon, Ariz.
LaRue's parents; and two brothers: Derl Hastings and Jerry Hastings preceded her in death.
