Karla Kingman, 52, of Aberdeen and formerly of Eagle Butte, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

 Funeral services will be noon MDT, Friday, April 5, at St. John's Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte. An all-night wake will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the church, with a procession forming at 4 p.m. at the Four-mile junction.

Edmund "Donnie" Albrecht, 70, of Moorhead, formerly of Fargo, N.D., passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Essentia Health in Fargo after a year of battling multiple myeloma cancer.

Harlin E. 'Dutch' Schlosser

Harlin E. "Dutch" Schlosser died March 27, 2013, at 80 years old due to age related causes. He was born July 21, 1932, in McPherson County, South Dakota to Rudolph and Hilda (Neiffer) Schlosser.

 A Memorial Service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 225 S. Danebo Avenue, Eugene, OR 97402. A private inurnment will be at a later date.

 Harlin was born and raised on the family farm near Frederick, South Dakota. Harlin served in the US Army during the Korean conflict where he was stationed in Germany building bridges. After the military, Harlin moved to Los Angeles, California where he married Marcella Lopez. The family relocated to Junction City, Oregon in 1963. Harlin and Marcella later divorced.

 Harlin met Patricia Ann Brenden in 1968 and they were married on April 19, 1969.

While in Southern California, Harlin worked at Northrup where he helped build the feet for the Apollo landing craft which later landed on the moon in 1969. After moving to Oregon he worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and retired from Delta Sand & Gravel in 1992.

 His passion in his retirement years was restoring vintage era John Deere tractors. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping and was a member of the Eugene Eagles Lodge.

Harlin is survived by:

 His Wife of 44 years Pat; Daughters: Mary Engel and Kathy Schlosser (Husband Robert Atkins) of Sacramento Calif.; Sons: Wallace St. Julian (Wife Teri) of Eugene Ore., Anthony St. Julian of Sacramento Calif., Eddie Schlosser (Wife Jill) of Eugene Ore. and Mike Schlosser (Wife Joesette) of Springfield Ore.; Brothers: Harvin Schlosser of Westport, Vern Schlosser of Frederick, Gene Schlosser of Aberdeen and Bill Schlosser of Bath; Sisters: Evelyn Olson and Shirley Wagemann of Aberdeen, Mary Jensen of Duluth Minnesota and Loraine Dorman of Carson Calif.; Grandchildren: Raina Banuelos, Savannah St. Julian and Ryan Atkins of Sacramento Calif., Jocelin Engel of Queens N.Y., Janessa Schlosser, Wally St. Julian lll, Pam St. Julian, Alex St. Julian, Tisha Feeley and Lyndy Feeley of Eugene Ore.; Great-Grandchildren: Austin and Elissa St. Julian of Vancouver Washington and 34 Nieces and Nephews.

 Harlin was preceded in death by his son Joseph; Parents, Rudolph and Hilda; Brother, Delbert; and Sister Joyce.

Tiance Josette (Outlaw) Morgan

Tiance Josette (Outlaw) Morgan peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the age of 63, in Moravian Falls, N.C.

  Tiance was born on Oct. 1, 1949, in Aberdeen, S.D., the daughter of Harry Outlaw and Ella Farness Outlaw. She was a graduate of Aberdeen Central High School in 1967, attended college at Presentation College in 1980 and Northern State University in 1981 and was ordained as a minister by the Assembly of God International in 2000.

  Tiance married Kevin Morgan in 1979 and lived in Aberdeen until 1985, prior to moving to Virginia Beach, Va., followed by Chardon, Ohio, in 1987 and Poway, Calif., in 1992. Tiance spent the last three years in Moravian Falls, N.C.

 Tiance was a very loving mother, devoted friend, and was particularly known for her compassion and help to those around her.

  Tiance was preceded in death by both parents, but leaves behind a legacy in her daughter, Pernel (Aaron) Martin of Encinitas, Calif., and three sons: Sean (Amy) Morgan of Noblesville, Ind., Samuel Morgan, Los Angeles, Calif., and Joseph (Catrina) Morgan of Escondido, Calif. She was blessed with six grandchildren and is also survived by her brothers: Gary (Ute) Outlaw of Apple Valley, Minn., and Lanny (Camille) Outlaw of Lafayette, Colo.

  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 10 a.m. at the Poway-Bernardo Mortuary at 13243 Poway Road, Poway, Calif.

 The service will be officiated by Pastor Paul Grimes and a private interment will follow at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway.

Richard W. 'Rich' Mallett

 Richard W. "Rich"  Mallett, 68, of Volga passed away on March 31, 2013, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Rude's Funeral Home in Brookings. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Rude's Funeral Home, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service.

 Rich was born on May 21, 1944, to Harold and Julianna (Schuring) Mallett in Bristol. He grew up in Andover and Chelsea.

 He met Mary Ellen Stewart while in high school and they were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 1965. Through their married life they lived in Cresbard, Warner, Aberdeen, Mina Lake and finally in Volga. Rich attended one year of college in Aberdeen. Rich worked at the Farmers Union in Warner. He then worked at Control Data in Aberdeen for 17 years. Up until he became ill, he worked as an implementation team member for ISA and DXP.

  Rich was instrumental in developing the first indoor hockey rink in Aberdeen. For 17 years, he volunteered countless hours to the success of the program. He was very proud of being on the committee for hosting the first National Invitational Hockey tournament in Aberdeen. While being proud of the program, he was most proud of his boys in all the years with countless hours of videotapes. His favorite pastimes were "putzin" in his garage, hunting with his boys, fishing with his daughter and sitting on the back patio with his loving wife, Mary, of 47 years, admiring his perfectly "manicured" yard.

 Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mary; children: Mike (Julie) Mallett, Mark and special friend, Lisa, Michelle (Jeff) Thue; four grandchildren: Alycia (John), Blake, Sidney and Jack; one great-granddaughter, Addisyn; and his beloved cat, BW.

 The family he will be joining in heaven are his parents, Harold and Julianna; brother, Robert; and infant sister, Ione.

 Mass of Christian burial for Richard Darcy Pudwill, 54, of Selby will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Selby. Burial will be at the Selby Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Darcy lost his fight with cancer on March 30, 2013, at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls.

 Richard Darcy Pudwill was born in Gettysburg on July 11, 1958, to Dick and Phylliss (Gross) Pudwill of Selby. He attended elementary and high school in Selby, graduating in the class of 1976. He attended college at Northern in Aberdeen. He entered the U.S. Army in 1980. He was a medical laboratory specialist assigned to Fifth MASH, 82 Airborne in Fort Bragg, N.C. He spent two years overseas in different places, including Germany and Egypt. He participated in the rescue of U.S. citizens during the Invasion of Grenada. After being released from active duty, he remained in the U.S. Army reserve with the 452nd Ordnance Co. in Aberdeen and continued his education at the University of South Dakota and University of New Mexico. He was again ordered to active duty in support of Desert Shield/ Desert Storm and was Honorably Discharged in May 1991.

 He was employed by Enron Corp and Prairie Partners as an archeologist and doing construction. He married Annette Amiotte in Albuquerque, N.M., on Feb. 1, 1991. He enjoyed fishing on the river with special friends, Bruce Clement and Tim and Tyke Schumacher. A very special event to him was the annual cousin hunt on opening day of pheasant season on the Oberlitner and Sheldon acres.

 He is survived by his parents, Dick and Phylliss, of Selby; brother, Gregg of Selby; dog, Jacques of Selby; stepdaughter, Amia Moore; many special aunts, uncles and cousins; and godparents, Dick Gross of Sioux Falls and Yvonne Brown of Excelsior, Minn.

 He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Pauline Pudwill of Herreid and E.F. and Gert (Goebel) Gross of Gettysburg.

Funeral services for Edwin Stroh, 99, of Mobridge will be Saturday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 918 First Ave. E., Mobridge.

 Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Mobridge.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, with prayer services at 7 p.m. at Stout Family Funeral Home, 519 Seventh Ave., E. Mobridge.

  Edwin passed away March 30, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

 Edwin Stroh was born in Venturia, N.D., to Jacob and Lydia (Retzer) Stroh March 11, 1914. He grew up and attended school in the Venturia area and attended high school in Ashley, N.D.

 He married Malinda Hilgemann on Sept. 27, 1936, this union lasting 72 years, until the death of Malinda on Feb. 8, 2009. Ed and Malinda were blessed with seven children.

 They farmed in North Dakota for several years and purchased a farm Southwest of Eureka and lived there for 12 years. They sold the farm and moved to Mobridge in 1957. Ed worked for a time at Mobridge Lumber, Mobil Oil and Texaco Oil for eight years. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he worked for the Mobridge School System for 13 years. He also worked as the janitor at the A. H. Brown Library for 26 years. Ed enjoyed woodworking and his creations were raffled at the Mobridge Hospital Bazaar for years. He and Malinda enjoyed playing cards, marbles and fishing on Lake Oahe. After retirement, Ed and Malinda spent 17 winters in Arizona. The lifelong friends from Mobridge, as well as the many friends they acquired in years of travel, were very important to Ed. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years.

 Blessed to have shared his life are his children: James (Bev) Stroh of Tomah, Wis., Janette (Frank) Scherr of Merritt Island, Fla., Ione (Otto) Oster of Mobridge, Vera (Don) Kraemer of Bison, Verna Best of Pine City, Minn., Wanda (Davis) Martin of Mobridge and June (Toby) Day of Chandler, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

 Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Malinda; parents, Jacob and Lydia Stroh; brothers: Berthold, Herbert and Wilbert; sisters: Martha Opp, Hulda Loebs, Edna Neuharth, Adeline Ehly and Loretta Dockter; grandchildren: Michael Scherr and Elizabeth Scherr Archambault.

Walter F. Buntrock

 Memorial service for Walter F. Buntrock, 92, of Aberdeen will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. The family will be at the church by 9:30 a.m. to greet friends.

 Walter died April 1, 2013, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

 Walter F. Buntrock was born Oct. 26, 1920, near Columbia on the family farm to Herman John and Elise Gertrude (Podoll) Buntrock. He attended country school and graduated from the Columbia High School in 1939. He then attended Northern Normal College in Aberdeen for two years and in August 1942, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy. Walter served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was honorably discharged in December 1945.

 On Oct. 18, 1946, he married Wilma Weismantel at St. John's Lutheran Church in Columbia. In 1953, they purchased a farm near Claremont and in 1958, they purchased a farm west of Columbia in the Ordway Township. They retired in 1994 from farming, sold their farm and moved to Aberdeen.

 Walter enjoyed carving wood and making Diamond Willow canes. He made many miniature "Tin Men" for the OZ Festivals and in June 2011, he went on the last Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. While living in Aberdeen, he was a volunteer for RSVP.

 He is survived by one daughter, Rene (Harry) Hixon of Rapid City; one son, Randy (Teresa) Buntrock of Casselton, N.D.; three grandchildren: Amanda Hixon, Brietta (Sean) Johnson and Zachary Buntrock; two sisters: Esther Herther of Sioux Falls and Irene Healy of Aberdeen.

 Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma, on March 10, 2002; two sisters; and three brothers.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, PO Box 507, Minot, ND 58702 or to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141.

 Ushers will be: David Swanhorst and John Swanhorst.

 Organist will be Sheri Scott.

New Tec director resigns

 Brandon Lemer, the New Tec executive director, has resigned his position to take a job as the president and CEO of the North Dakota Make A Wish Foundation in Fargo, N.D.

 His last day at New Tec is May 12.

 Lemer had been at New Tec since October. He is originally from North Dakota and has family there.

 New Tec, at 2911 Industrial Ave., offers technical, safety and occupational training.

Aberdeen: Ted Seaton, 60, of Aberdeen, passed away at his residence Sunday, March 24, 2013. His wishes were to be cremated.

A celebration and time of sharing of Ted's life will be held at 3:30 p.m Sunday, April 7, at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 S. Jay, Aberdeen. A memorial service will be held at the church on June 2, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Bud Seaton, and his grandparents.
