Where there is sadness, love plants a garden of memories.

Pearl Frances Traver, our beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away March 25, 2013, in Billings, in the loving care of family.

A lifelong Aberdeen resident, Pearl Frances

Schweig was born on Dec. 29, 1917, and graduated from Central High School in 1935.

Pearl married the love of her life, Leonard Traver, on Aug. 8, 1937, and they were blessed to have had 54 years together. They enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spent many Saturday nights dancing at Wylie Dance Pavilion with their dear friends, Jake and Betty Hoffer. In those days, a woman working full time outside the home was a rarity, but she was a whiz with numbers and enjoyed being busy. In her long career, she worked as a bookkeeper at Grover's Buick, Carey & Deschner Insurance Agency, Keenan & Craig CPAs, Aberdeen Production Credit Assoc., and Dacotah Bank Holding, before retiring in 1982. She was a professional businesswoman, but made it clear that her family always came first.

In retirement, Pearl enjoyed traveling and visiting family in Tennessee, Colorado and Minnesota, and was thrilled to have attended two World Fairs. She was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1046, the Mr. and Mrs. Dance Club, a charter member of the Aberdeen Business and Professional Women's Club, and a member of the Aberdeen Country Club. She enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and we lovingly called her the "Beanie Queen of Aberdeen." Pearl was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen and remained an active member of the church and the Zion Fellowship Circle. She was a good friend and loved meeting her four close girlfriends every Saturday for lunch.

Grateful for Pearl sharing her life with them are her daughter, Joann and husband, Dick Einarson, Billings; granddaughter, Debora Skalbeck (Steve) of Eden Prairie, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Arch and Brita Skalbeck; granddaughter, Barbara Einarson (John Philips) of Gallatin, Tenn.; granddaughter, Elizabeth Simpson (Scott) of Golden, Colo.; and two great-grandchildren, Traver and Lilly Nauslar.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Elsie Schweig; husband, Leonard Traver; and infant daughter, Jean Ellen.

We were blessed to have had Pearl in our lives and will miss her very much, but will find comfort in knowing that our dear loved ones, Pearl and Leonard, are together again, in peace.

A celebration of Pearl's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in memory of Pearl or to one's own choice of charities.

Condolences may be shared with Pearl's daughter: Joann Einarson, 107 33rd St. W., Billings, MT 59102 or online at michelottisawyers.com.
