Stella's wishes were to be cremated with no services taking place.

Stella Whittmeyer was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Lehr, N.D., to Chris and Ella (Wolff) Whittmeyer. This is the area where she spent her childhood. Stella later moved to Aberdeen, where she attended and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School with the class of 1946.
Stella was united in marriage to Theodore Winburn on July 21, 1949. The couple made their home in Houghton, where in addition to being a homemaker, Stella was employed as a dispatcher for Winburn Trucking for many years. Stella and Theodore were blessed with three sons and shared over 63 years of marriage before she passed away.
Stella enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cards and especially loved going to the family cabin at Clear Lake in the summers and spending the winters in Mesa, Ariz.
Surviving Stella are her husband, Theodore Winburn, of Houghton; two sons: Teddy Winburn of Sisseton and Tony (Dawn) Winburn of Houghton; one brother, Delmer Wittmyer of Mont.; one sister, Arlene Schanaman of Wash.; three grandchildren: Scott (Becky) Winburn of Rosemont, Minn., Teanna (Dan) Kuhlman of Avon and Boe Winburn of Houghton; and four great-grandchildren.
Stella's parents; son, Douglas Winburn; brother, Darvin Whittmeyer; and sister, Leone Sonnenberg, preceded her in death.
