The funeral service for James J. Gilland, 52, of Box Elder will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Jennifer Turick officiating. James died Friday, April 19, at his home.
James J. Gilland was born in Mobridge on Oct. 15, 1960, to Don and Lorraine (Hoff) Gilland. James attended school in Aberdeen. He worked construction in Aberdeen and the Rapid City area. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends.
Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Lorraine Gilland, Aberdeen; sisters: Janis Gilland, Thermopolis, Wyo., Arlinda (Robert) Gloss, Donelda Schlosser and Sandy (Bob) Jakober all of Aberdeen; and several nephews and nieces.
James is preceded in death by his father, Don Gilland.
Honorary bearers are all of James' friends from Aberdeen and the Rapid City area.
