Olive died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Olive (Ollie) Mae Fulker, daughter of Harold and Marie (Magone) Fulker, was born March 8, 1928, in Aberdeen. She grew up on the family farm near Aberdeen and attended country school. She graduated from Aberdeen Central High School.
On Oct. 6, 1946, she married William Ryman at St. John's Lutheran Church in Warner. They lived on his family farm near Mansfield, raising seven children and having many holiday celebrations for family and friends there.
Ollie enjoyed helping her children with their 4-H projects and attending school activities. They continued to live at the farm until moving to Mobridge in 1993.
Ollie accepted Christ as her Savior on Aug. 26, 1979, and she was water baptized one month later. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Aberdeen, where she served as a Deacon's wife, an officer in the Women's Ministries, church choir member and nursery worker. She and her husband were in charge of the senior adult ministry. They also served as lay ministers in retirement and nursing homes in Aberdeen for 12 years.
Ollie was a former member of the Mobridge Assembly of God Church, a member of Avera St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary in Aberdeen and a past member of Hub City Gideon's Auxiliary.
She enjoyed fishing on the Missouri River with her husband and friends. July Fourth was a special time when her family would come to Mobridge. She also enjoyed reading and writing letters.
Ollie is survived by two sons: Dr. Stan (Carly) Ryman of Aberdeen and the Rev. David (Jenny) Ryman of Blackfoot, Idaho; three daughters: Gwen Heyd of Crooks, Karen (Michael) Jones of Big Fork, Mont., and Lori (Dr. Kevin) Peterson of Lake Elmo, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Vicki Richardson of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; two brothers: Robert and Arthur Fulker of Aberdeen; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; daughter, Margie; son, Glenn; sister, Mary Mills; son-in-law, Allen Heyd; granddaughter-in-law, Laura DeVaan; and grandson-in-law, Dean Leuning.
Honorary urn bearers will be all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
